Do You Like Toriyama's Change In Style?

I think the most glaring examples being Piccolo and Vegeta. They look radically different in the Saiyan arc compared to the Boo arc. Do you like this change? Which do you prefer?

Yup, especially Vegeta. He went from bad guy, to a tweener mode to a good guy so basically a slow face turn and it was executed almost perfect IMO. Piccolo on the other hand didn't really have a chance to resolve his issue to Goku like Vegeta did and that's what was missing for me about him IMO.

I don't know about the manga but the anime changes was great IMO.

Vegeta looking like DeVito in the Saiyan arc was kind of gay so I'm in favor of it. Not fond of how he got way too bulky in the later arcs though since his whole concept was being deceptively strong for his short height.

I kinda wish the story kept the DB/early Z art style throughout just for consistency. I think the Android/Cell arc looks kinda cool as like a "transition" between the two styles, but everyone is just filled with roids come Boo.

I like the change to a more roided out look, honestly. Maybe not career user, but the several cycles of the Cell Games is fine. I'd take it any day over the natty look of the dudes from BoG and RoF.

SSjinG is a complete different form than SSjin. I know you're trying to make a point but if you want to then how about compare the same form of different series? Because the Boo arc SSjin is similar to Super SSjin form than Frieza arc SSjin Goku to Boo arc SSjin Goku which is basically Toriyama's both artwork.

I think the Super manga looks on-point most of the time (unlike that crappy anime) but I do also hate the skinny SSJG look.

AT actually admitted he consciously made his art more angular because he got a fanletter complaining it was too angular already lol

I prefer his change in style during the Freeza and Cell Arcs since whilst I find his cartoonish and circular style more charming and energetic in most panels, I'm overall drawn to more masculine and serious art styles, plus the detail he put in some areas was pretty commendable, such as making sure to keep where he put Cell's spots consistent and the overall detail of Perfect Cell's design in general is a major factor of me saying yes to the changes. I don't like the direction it went in the Boo Arc though, since the lack of any sort of grey tones in most panels left the detail feeling bland, particularly in the chapters where Evil Boo's on Kami's Temple prior to the fight with Gotenks.

Toriyama's later changes with the Kanzenban covers and more recent revisionings of previous characters are even more of a mixed bag. He got better at drawing old men like Roshi and Kami, plus his cover art of SSJ Goku for the Kanzenban version was one of his best pieces, yet the way he drew other characters felt far less distinctive than before and his recent drawings for Super material, such as the Freeza Arc art throwback featuring Golden Freeza, being pure cancer.

I preferred the Saiyan Saga art-style. Everyone looked younger. In the Boo Saga with the angular style, Goku looks old af.

His bright idea to keep Goku's spirit alive in the show was to introduce a Goku look-alike character with almost a copy-pasta personality of Goku's child-self.
