Don't you think it's weird how Ace didn't give enough of a fuck about his crew and they didn't care either?

After Ace was captured by WB, his crew was also captured. When Thatch tells Ace that the rest of the Spade Pirates are also on the ship, I find it strange that he doesn't make any effort to get them together and rebel.

Imagine if the Strawhats were captured by a yonkou. You think Luffy would just abandon his crew and let them become fodder? Hell no, Luffy would get them together and they would all try to whoop ass. Just like the strawhats had been through so much and been shown to all have amazing spirits and great skills in their own right - even when they had only just reached the Grand Line - I feel that Ace's crew should have had extremely strong bonds and consisted of members who were all as tenacious as the likes of Usopp, Zoro, Sanji, Nami etc. Are you telling me that Ace picked up a bunch of nobodies, while every other great pirate (particularly those with the will of D) such as Law, Shanks, WB, Roger, Luffy and Kidd found crew members who all have strong wills? Dafuk Oda.

I imagine he hadn't spent that long with his crew members. That, or he's far more realistic than Luffy and just saw them as a means to an end.

It seems odd that he wouldn't have a similar crew to Luffy, when they are similar in so many ways. Both of them have that magnetism to them, which makes me think Ace would have easily found crew members who would stick with him from East Blue and the early Grand Line.

Seeing them as a means to end wouldn't be consistent, considering he was willing to sacrifice his life for them when trying to get them to escape.
