We already know what's in store for season 2:
Goku (GT)
Gogeta (SSGSS)
Videl
Janemba
Jiren
Broly (DBS)
However, further datamining shows we may be getting another season pass:

Though this time, we are probably only getting 4 characters which is another 2 decrease from the last season.
But whom could they have next in store?
These are the ones I think are the most likely candidates:
Goku (Ultra Instinct)
This is a relatively fresh and new form of Goku that is surprising absent from FighterZ. How he would work though is a bit challenging further out,
He could be a counter-based character with a strong defense game that can deliver a lot of damage to careless opponents, but he could be punished just as easily. A glass cannon so to speak.
Master Roshi
Out of all the characters to rep the original Dragon Ball, it absolutely must be him. One thing that could potentially work against him is that he can't fly but the dash mechanics in this game can easily be reworked as a super jump for him instead of actual flight.
Aside from that, Roshi has a ton of cool and interesting technique at his disposal including the Drunken Fist, Afterimage Strike, Thunder Shock Surprise, Demon Sealing Wave, etc.
Toppo
Honestly, I don't know much about Toppo but he's very highly requested so why not?
Kefla
Another character that should be a shoe-in for DLC but is suspiciously absent.
She is basically a two-in-one deal character: The talent and leadership skills of Caulifla with the insane hidden powers of Kale.
Here are some other potential candidates:
Chi-Chi
Unlikely as hell especially since Videl pretty much took her spot, but still would make a fun and unique addition.
She could be a Jam Kuradoberi-esque character that is loaded with stances and combo moves making her difficult to learn but deadly in the right hands. ArcSystem can also take some ques from Super Dragon Ball Z by giving her the Bansho Fan and Power Slugger (as a level 1 super move or something).
Just like Roshi though, she can't fly but is capable of jumping at extreme heights so the dash mechanics can be reworked just the same.
Raditz / Dabura
Raditz and Dabura are similar in they are both secondary villains that have been long forgotten by the series but are somehow popular with fans.
They are also similar in that they rely on trickery and moves with unique properties to gain the upper hand. Raditz can shoot two energy waves at opposite directions at once, is good at countering crossups, and fights dirty while Dabura can materialize weapons from thin air, turn people into stone with his spit, and breathe fire.
Raditz is more likely due to his importance in jump starting the story of Z but neither would disappoint. If Bamco can sell Base level Goku and Vegeta then pretty much anything is possible.
King Piccolo
Even more unlikely and it would be easy to dismiss him as an inferior version of his son Piccolo since that's literally what he was in the actual series, but he can do a couple things that his son can't do.
He can summon his other sons to help him fight, he can cause wind current with just the wave of his hand to literally sweep his opponents off their feet, and his fighting style is way more brutal whatnot with him picking up opponents by their heads just so he can punish them some more. His level 3 super would probably the Explosive Demon Wave which is an energy wave that is nearly impossible to dodge.
Lastly, unlike most fighters from the original Dragon Ball, he can fly.
Caulifla (w/ Kale)
Seeing as Xenoverse 2 chose Kefla over Caulifla or Kale, it's likely that FighterZ would do the same, but we can't count the duo out completely.
I know the whole 'dual character' archetype is a bit overdone especially as two out of three of the female characters are already assisted by their male superiors, but Caulifla and Kale really go together peanut and butter.
Anyways, Caulifla would obviously serve as the leader and main fighter while Kale is the muscle and hangs around in the background ready to help out any way she can.
If things look bleak, you can pull out a trump card and have Kale unleash her Berserker form where she starts fighting on her own accord, but the opponent can now land hits to make her lose the form quicker (though she has super armor and can't be knocked down).
