Actually, having said that, Trunks has more fighting skill so could still close the distance and chop the farmer's arm off lol. Not really something to laugh at, but still....lol.

If suppressing his ki to 5 also made him as vulnerable as a human, Trunks gets shot by the shotgun and dies.

Depends what the starting distance is. If it's anything beyond melee range, the Farmer takes it as even a skilled swordsman would be at a disadvantage against a gun without being close enough to disarm the gunman, and Trunks' skill in swordplay doesn't seem to be much greater than "slash them really fast."
