Simply post what tend to be your favourite or least favourite genres of the medium. This is based more on average than peaks in which exceptions prove the rule. For instance, even if something such as a sports manga is one of your favourites, you may not like the genre as a whole on average.

As for mine...

Favourites - Sci-fi/Space Opera, Action/Adventure, Historical, Psychological
Least Favourites - Slice of nothing happens Life, School, Romance, Sports, Ecchi/Harem, Yaoi/Shonen Ai, Yuri/Shojo Ai

If we include Shōnen as a genre instead of a demographic then that. Other than that more specifically Sci-Fi, Adventure, Action and Comedy.

I'd like thrillers (especially psychological ones) if there was more than from what I've seen a few outliers.

Least favourite, anything overly sexual like Yaoi, basically porn.

Favorites- Shounen, seinen, action/adventure, fantasy, martial arts, sci-fi, drama, and super power.

Least Favorites- Ecchi/harem and sports (aside from the fighting ones)

I don't have a lot of least favorites tbh. There are definitely sides to some that I really dislike like magic or psychological, but I definitely wouldn't say I dislike those on a whole.

Favs: Psychological, thriller, action/adventure (though battle shounens are grating at this point), dystopia, “dementia” (honestly not even entirely sure what this entails as a genre, but I seem to like stuff tagged with it; I know the regular definition so I have an idea but yeah)

Least favs: School, harem, ecchi, romance (especially super shoujo-esque), sports, battle shounen, yaoi, yuri (jk yuri’s the way to go if you got girls in your show and they aren’t making love then what are they there for?? /s)

On that note I do think that in an “““objective””” sense, no genre is inherently better than another, but that begs the question as to whether ecchi should even count. The definition essentially entails that it must be devoid of “quality,” and if it happens to be good then it’s because of the qualities of an accompanying genre. If it’s really funny then it’s a good “ecchi comedy,” if it just has good characters then it’s a good “ecchi slice of life,” if it has good romance then it’s a romance with ecchi....

There probably wouldn't be any point in that, since the Shonen demographic, and all manga demographics, can cover too much of a variety to be boiled down to their stereotype such as Shonen being primarily action/adventure. For instance, the demographic also contains many varied or opposing genres such as sports (eg. Ashita no Joe), romance and slice of life (eg. Kimagure Orange Road) or horror (eg. Devilman and Violence Jack).
