Who is your favourite heroes group/incarnation in the series. I got to go with the original.

Goku, Yamcha, Master Roshi, Kuririn , Bulma, Lunch, Puar and Oolong. I don't think I forgot anyone. Maybe Tenshinhan and Chaozu as-well but they came later and didn't feel as much part of the group. Chaozu got defeated by Tao and was written-out to the point he couldn't even cheer them on anymore l0l.

Those were the good times. Goku & Kuririn & Yamcha & Master Roshi in the tournament, & Bulma & Lunch & Puar & Oolong cheering them on.

In-fact I'm sure there's a really kewl image of the whole crew back-then.

And I might just as-well say my least favourite from the original manga. The Boo Saga. Goten and Trunks. Enough said.

I go with the original cast as well. They had far more use, and more variety among them.

And there was a strong sense of camaraderie/friendship amongst the group. They actually felt like a group of friends. Strong unity.

Not like DragonBall Z. Here comes Goku to save the day and everyone-else is already dead or on the brink of dead. Barely any interaction.

The original cast from the beginning of the series up until the 22nd TB. With the exception of Lunch being a poorly written gag that got old several chapters after being introduced, the main cast all had vibrant and different enough personalities to stand out, especially in the first arc where they stood out as an inversion of the typical heroic band in Asian legends.
If I were to choose a point where they were at their best, it was the first arc as it was when they all had a role to contribute to the plot and their flaws were strong enough to highlight each one as imperfect but endearing characters. Oolong became irrelevant after the first arc, Pu-erh was only giving one more thing to do against Suke-san before becoming entirely irrelevant and the end of the first arc saw the dawn Yamcha's slow decline from rival to jobber from the 21st TB and onwards.
