A lot people use this feat to say that DB was FTL since Part I and use it as a data for their powerscaling and say that "Boo Saga Goku was trillion of times faster than light"...
Let's stop this and debunk this myth once for all.
Argument 1 : We have no proof that Goku did
We didn't got to see Goku outrunning the light. He might have already run towards Kame Sennin when Tien announced his attack. After all, Tien stated that he has dropped his guard, so it's not impossible that he didn't think about checking if Goku got hit.
Argument 2 : Goku don't think he can
If Goku was already fast enough to outrun the solar flare, why would he need Kame Sennin's sunglasses in the first place ? It's a direct contradiction of the feat, as Goku himself don't think he can outspeed light. More often than not, character's opinion > your opinion, especially if the feat isn't showed to exist in the first place.
Argument 3 : Solar flare was still relevant until Cell Saga
That alone utterly contradict this "feat". Unsurprisingly, this fact is very often dismissed by DB's fans. Oozaru Vegeta, Dodoria, 2nd form Frieza, Kamiccolo, Android 16, Android 18, Krillin, ASSJ Trunks, ASSJ Vegeta were all way faster than Kid Goku, but none of them were able to dodge it. As such, they aren't faster than light. So Kid Goku never outran the solar flare, and even if he did (unlikely), it's an outlier.
Actually, they aren't even FTL in Boo Saga. SSJ Gotenks, a SSJ3-tier character (depending on who you ask) only did 5 world tour in 29 minutes (or less, as he is shown waiting Piccolo and apparently had the time to take a nap). Lightspeed characters can do 7 world tours in 1 second, which is far faster. The only characters in DBVerse confirmed to surpass the lightspeed are : Whis, Beerus, SSJG Goku (and above), SSJG Vegeta (and above) and Golden Frieza (and potentially Vegito via powerscaling). Nobody else can.
