<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">I think it was just a plot device for a happy ending. Greed coming terms with his whole "I wanted friends" realization really had nothing to do with the fate he chose; it was all just so Lin would be human again.</div>

How do you come to that conclusion? Calling a death scene great doesn't mean you disliked that character.

I think it was a retarded death overall. I failed to feel any emotion considering Greed defying Father to the death already happened in volume 8 and the whole situation was just contrived overall.

Wat? Explain. You have something against him and wanted him dead?
The build up and music of the death scene was epic. In Greed's original death I don't think he really changed much. His second death actually made him a different character.

It was kind of a joke I'm sure he doesn't just not like Greed

@Itachi true but it was still really unnecessary and a bad move. How do you kill someone off right when they hit the peak of their character? He didn't need to be killed off just because the other humonculi died if that's what the author was thinking

Greed wouldn't really fit in the story going on, and it would just make the world too just of a place rewarding him for changing at the last moment.

But he was rewarded for changing, despite willingly committing greater crimes than Greed.

So if one of them was rewarded and the other wasn't, wouldn't that be unjust?

It would be, but you made it sound like Greed being forgiven in of itself would be wrong when the same thing happened.

Fair point. The story would just be too bright if Greed go to go too.

I had no qualms with it. It served to get Ling back in control of his body and brought a good resolution. It would seem weird to have him around after everything was over.
