Anyway, from that I've read so far, he wants to rule the kingdom or the world.

But rule the World... and do what with it? It seems he has something in mind for it. A place in which all types of creatures can coexist? Can't be sure of...

Unless his plans changed after joining the Godhand, it was simply to rule a Kingdom. It’s impossible to speculate what his goals may have changed to after becoming Femto.

He wanted a kingdom. At first he wanted to have a castle, or a town, but once he got what he wanted, he shifted his goal to something grander, like a country. So pretty much he wants to rule the world, Guts said something to that effect to those wizards in elfhelm.

Isn't that the reason why he does all that insane sheeeeet in the first place?

I think it influenced him a little, but the goal he had from the beginning required him to have the power for such, influencing his decision od discarding his friends for powa.
