Grinding a Pokémon to Level 100 in one route

I vaguely remember my cousin telling me years ago he'd catch one of the early game Pokémon like a Zigzagoon and just stick to the early routes to grind it to high levels (don't know if he specifically said 100 though)

I'm curious how long this would take. You'd need insurmountable amounts of tism I imagine.

If a Pokemon requires 1.25 million EXP to reach 100 and solely fought Pokemon rewarding 30EXP, it would take 41,666.67 battles to reach lv 100.

So I guess time a battle as quickly as you can and multiply that by 41,666.67 and that's the best case scenario?

Wait, this doesn't account for Pokémon not obeying due to lack of badges, so realistically it will be even longer. Somewhere around 400 hours?

In Pokemon Gold one time I got my starter to evolve before the first rival battle. That alone took hours and that was only to level 16.
