Hisoka can't hold his urges anymore, he challenges Illumi to a duel to the death.

Round 1: Illumi decides on the time and place to fight.

Round 2: Hisoka doesn't give Illumi the chance to decide the time in place to fight.

I quit reading the manga somewhere around the beginning of the Dark Continent shit so I really haven't seen that much of Illumi. Really can't say.

1. It would depend on what kind of strategy Illumi could come up with. I think with proper preparations and with all the advantages pointing to him, Illumi could maybe win.

2. I'd give to Hisoka. I don't see Illumi being quite on the level of current Hisoka. Most of this is guess-work.

I'd say Hsoka wins both scenarios, purely due to the fact we have more exposure of both his abilities and tactical prowess.

As far as I remember, Illumi hasn't show much in battle, so for now my money on Hisoka.

There's also Hisoka rating the Zoldiac's members and then being surprised when he found a 95... some people speculate that the number was in comparison with Hisoka's own strength, which would then be a 100. Couple that with the fact that Hisoka hasn't, as far as I remember, shown that much of an interest in Illumi to the point of going out of his way to fight him, and I think the Magician has got this after a tough match. Illumi could win with prep, but I'd still put my money on the magician due to how smart and well versed he has shown to be in most fights, generally coming up with a counter-plan.
