Personally, I don't really mind as I never used Hoopa that often, though I don't think it actually needed to be banned. It'll probably end up like Landorus-I, Deoxys-N, and Mega Mawile; too good for OU but horrible in Ubers.

Didn't even realize landorus and mawile were banned. I actually thought mawile was one of the shitter megas because of it's lack of speed and lack of defenses (in terms of HP) to make up for that speed. Doesn't Mega medicham do almost the same thing but have better speed and not a retarded health total?

I personally don't see the need to ban Hoopa. Most of my teams had good counters to it. Even with scarf it'll be outsped by Lopunny and it'll die because of its shit defensive stat.

I wasn't around for competitive battling back when Mawile was banned, so I didn't read anything about it. My guess would be that Mawile has Intimidate before it megas, and it has higher defenses (it's HP may be lower but it's only by a small amount (Base 50 vs. Base 60)). Mawile also has a far superior defensive typing along with much stronger priority.

Also, Scarf Hoopa outspeeds Mega Lopunny.
