Kenshit and I have both read the manga and are planning on watching the 12 episode anime. The plan is to do 1 episode per day, so anyone is welcome to join us. The manga was a nice change of pace from things that I typically read and it was quite enjoyable. Hopefully the anime lives up to that. We'll start tomorrow.

Episode 1:

-This opening song is awful :ha

-Interesting that the anime begins with a flashback of Yaichi before even introducing Masa. Very strange.

Finished the episode. While there isn't a whole lot to say regarding the plot, it felt like a good introduction to the series and quickly introduced most of the important characters in a cohesive way. I feel like the voices fit the characters well. I'm curious to see how the entire plot will be rammed into 12 episodes..

Episode 2:

Not much to say about this one. The anime starts off similarly to the manga in that it takes a bit for the plot to get moving. Now that Masa has joined the 5 Leaves the plot should start accelerating now.

Episode 3:

Better episode in terms of pacing. I feel like the anime skipped over some of the development between Ume and Masa. In episode 2 when Ume and Masa brought the hostage to Souji, a lot of details about Ume's past were skipped over. I've also noticed that some events are happening in different orders than in the manga. Episode 3 ended off with another flashback of Yaichi that I'm fairly certain happened later on in the manga - similarly the beginning of episode 1. While the anime cuts haven't been all that significant, they definitely have reduced the amount of development that the group has had so far.

My apologies for neglecting this thread as of late. Had irl issues and got too depressed to leave the house much, forgot about this whole thing. I'll watch the first 4 episodes today to catch back up.

No rush man. It's such a short anime we don't need to stick to a strict limit per day. I plan to watch 4 today, maybe 5.

Finished episode 4. I'm shocked by how much of a bitch Masa is lol. The guy is like 6'4 and doesn't even have the strength to stand up :ha :cena

Episode 5 was a good episode for development. I don't like how the anime is handling flashbacks though. I spent half the episode trying to figure out if events were happening in the past or in the present due to no distinction. Whilst it's only 5 episodes in, so far I think the manga is much better.

Episode 8 and 9 were by far the best yet. The anime really took too long to pick up the pace. It was already long enough in the manga, but it shouldn't have taken half of the anime for the plot to start accelerating.

Well, just finished up the anime. I don't think it lived up to the story told within the manga. The final episode was rushed and the ending was needlessly changed from the events within the manga. The anime got off to a really slow start (the manga did as well), and when it only ran for 12 episodes that didn't really give it a chance to flesh out the story as well as the manga did. Too many things were cut out and many events happened in the wrong order.

Overall I give it a 6/10. Maybe it would have been better if I hadn't read the manga first.
