Roshi claimed that he personally buried Piccolo Daimao deep in the ocean. How the hell did Pilaf know where he was?

The meta answer is just plot.

If I had to rationalize it, I would say that Pilaf researched where the site of Roshi and Mutaito's final battle against Daimao was, and deduced that the part of the ocean Roshi threw the rice cooker in wasn't far. Then he spent the next couple of years scouring the ocean because he knew only Daimao could help him defeat Galu.

Pilaf is shown to have quite the large information base and tech resources, plus the story of Piccolo Daimao was still so well renowned a vagabond like Yajirobe still partially knew the tale. If it's such a widespread piece of history/legend amongst various people, it wouldn't be a stretch for Pilaf to deduce an approximate location based on accounts.
