Likely from the shape of the attack, as well as perhaps Kuririn having already proven himself to be quite the technical fighter beforehand against the Saibaimen. He was able to easily replicate it against Oozaru Gohan, so it's likely he had experience in dealing with similar cutting Ki techniques prior.

Freeza instinctively dodged it the moment it flew at him despite doing nothing to defend against Vegeta's off-guard attack. It just seems people with any battle sense can tell it's not just a run of the mill ki attack, plus Vegeta was able to copy it and so was Freeza, so they'd likely dealt with other types of ki blades before.

Maybe it was because that Kienzan is not just exclusively on Earth. He might have learned/know that technique somewhere else. Moreover, Frieza has a Kienzan too.

I don't think there's much I can add for information here. He likely knew it was a dangerous move by the look of it, Vegeta is a genius fighter after all and Nappa is obviously not.

It's actually pretty interesting how someone who is supposed to be an elite Saiyan fighter, a general in the army even, can lose his head so quickly. Shows how mentally weak Nappa is despite his relatively high strength.

Given that everyone and their mother can use it it's more that nappa was an idiot than vegeta miraculously knew it was dangerous.
