Can one theoretically give as many points as he likes to someone?

Yeah but there is a limit to you giving one person multiple rep in one day. You can give rep once to everyone once a day.

I personally don't worry about it at all. You could be the nicest guy in the world, but you'll still get negative refs at some point. :/
