I mean when the Humans triumphed over the Ginyus from Planet Kaiosama to Hell.

Would it have been around 50,000 KM?

And how strong were Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Chaoz at that time?

Due to moronic leveling up they essentially all passed 40k from the training. No one will agree with me but they surpassed Frieza during the android saga. :panties vs :boy is my evidence.

How far they fell is impossible to judge, given we aren't given a clear difference in length between Kaio's planet and Hell.

As for how strong they were, Yamcha would be somewhere below 60k when considering he didn't beat Reacoom as easily as Goku did. Tenshinhan should be at least around 80k or more since he was able to fight Jheese and Butta evenly even after dividing his power in two through the Shishin no Ken and Chaozu would be somewhere above 10k.

Which gap do you find greater, that of Tenshinhan (Suppressed against Yamcha at the end of the fight) over Yamcha (TB22) or the gap between Yamcha over Reacoom?

Numerically and statistically, any gap between two people who are Planet level is going to be astronomically greater than that between two people who are Large Building/City Block level. In terms of battle power, that'd also be greater when considering the difference in Ki between most fights in Part 1 wouldn't even be 2x when considering what scouter numbers imply.
In terms of the more standard differences in capabilities though, probably Tenshinhan and Yamcha. Yamcha beat Reacoom easily, but not to the extent of deflecting an Eraser Gun with a kiai or oneshotting him with a kick like Tenshinhan did to Yamcha and his Kamehameha.
