How strong is Black?

He clearly fears the shit out of Tao, yet is confident he can put up a good fight knowing that Tao was defeated. He also didn't seem to be immediately thinking of using the Battle Jacket.

Well, what they saw from Tao when he killed Blue probably wasn't his full power, seeing how Black was still astonished by Goku's strength, even though he already knew that Goku defeated Tao. I'd say Black would be above pre-Karin Goku, but below a non-serious Tao. Does that sound alright?

Black knew that Goku had defeated Tao Pai Pai, but Goku's strength still surpassed his expectations.

Black probably doesn't know what Tao's full power actually is, and just assumed that it was the power he used to kill Blue with.
