This is tough to say, there's no real reason for Korin to be all that strong. If Goku was able to overwhelm him with speed when he was a bit faster than Tao Pai Pai, I would think a greatly improved version of himself would have no problem easily catching Korin.

I wouldn't say he's necessarily that high, it depends on how much stronger you think Goku got after the 22nd TB, if you think he did at all.

Karin not mentioning that Goku surpassed him until after the 22nd TB at least implies to me he was still stronger than Goku the last time they met. That and Goku still thought training with Karin would be useful until he found out he surpassed him.

Yea I believe I'm the one who brought it to Herms attention. Whenever there is a big discrepancy between the anime subs, Viz and Herms, it's generally because Herms and his people made a mistake. They have made several and I usually catch them.

So, what we believed all those years, that Herms corrected the Viz mistakes, was wrong. It is the other way
around.

No not necessarily. Herms is more accurate word for word. I'd say Viz is more accurate in terms of getting the point across more times than not.

All I'm saying is that Herms and his team are subject to human error just like the rest of us. They have made mistakes.

At the end of the day, the combination of the Jap Anime Subs, Viz and Herms is probably going to give you the best estimate.

I prefer the Jap Anime Subs the most in terms of accuracy.

We do have one other issue like this. The quote from Tien regarding 23rd Budokai Goku with his weights.

Herms says Tien thought Goku would keep up, while Viz says he thought he wouldn't. This could play a huge factor in several issues.

Herms isn't a native speaker of Japanese. The Steven Simmons subs are usually much more accurate than his translations, although Herms tends to be more specific with them.

Steven Simmons doesn't sound like a Japanese name, either but usually the anime and herms translations seem very similar, so I don't really think I doubt Herms. Even-though he could be wrong at times.
