What would be your ideas in order to have a human defeat the Z-Fighters ? Or at least be a legitimate threat to them ?

I could see a super intelligent type of character being a threat assuming he had in-depth knowledge of Chi. Gero was a genius that decided to create powerful Androids to take down Goku. The opposite of that would be removing their powers. This guy would have his own version of spy robots that would extract samples from the Z-Warriors. This would give him a greater grasp of their physiology, which would allow him to develop a powerful EMP device that would make them lose their powers temporarily.

With his extensive resources, a mole that was placed in Capsule Corporation would obtain the chart on the Androids for him to research. So the additional forcefield added to the EMP would block the Androids' powers, reverting them to Lapis and Lazuli.

He would also develop his fighting robots--only they wouldn't be super powerful like the Androids. These robots would just be extremely sturdy, so they'd be tough to fight under normal circumstances.

So flying, Chi-manipulation, and their other basic abilities would be gone. The only thing they'd have left to utilize in battle is their natural fighting ability.

This sounds nice. However, considering Hercule was fast enough to look like he was teleportating to a normal human, as well as Goku being naturally bullet-proof, these robots would still need to be quite strong in order to take down the Z-Fighters. Or at least have deadly advantages, such as, I don't know, a rare kind of poison.

It was honestly something I just thought of on the whim when I saw the topic. I'm sure I could add much more to it if I ever sat down and really thought about it.

As for the robots, my intention was to have them nigh indestructible for the powerless Z-Warriors. Without their powers, exhaustion would come a lot quicker.

Uh, people like Goku and Vegeta are humans as well...

Did you mean Earthlings?

Damn, i need to get on those threads before EV. But yeah, Gero had the potential to be a brain villian to take down the Z Fighters on a smart way, exploring their weakeness (Or creating them) and sending his androids after them.

You know, i'd actually like to see an Arc written on the style of JL: Tower of Babel

I summon you to write such Arc, CC :CC

But which formation of the Z Fighters you meant, Keedounan? By how much a earthling can represent a threat to them quite depends of the point in time.

The original manga in general, though preferably Part I.

Yeah, the Z Fighters from Part I are definitely more likely to be threatened by a smart foe. I mean, i struggle to see an earthling matching multi planet busters with his intelligence, and at the end Gohan's rage can aways save the day.

Sticking with just part 1, I think the creation of a weapon/android that utilises radiation would be a difficult opponent to counter, perhaps even for Z era characters. After all, we never saw a character outright counter poisoning techniques until Super, and that was as result of advanced Ki control Part 1 characters don't have.

Most of the Z-Senshi also can't survive without oxygen. Piccolo may be an exception for Z characters, though doubtful since he still requires water to survive. Having a villain that can somehow launch them into the vacuum of space could work. Maybe by luring them into a base which is actually a disguised ship and sending it into orbit once they arrive at the right part of it, or by creating a space station with enough firepower to attack from a distance, which would prove a threat for the main cast until after the Freeza Arc due to Goku lacking Shunkan Ido.

Personally, I would've introduced a kryptonite like element which limit's one's Ki and have this element weaponised. Perhaps have someone discover katchin and make an armour and weaponry out of it.
