So I've been told to check this out many times, and I want something new to check out. Is this something where you'd rather see the animu, or read the mango? I know I've seen some absolutely terrible looking manga scans, so idk.

HxH is great. I watched the anime, and there is like 1 filler.

I don't place this higher than OP, but its one of the GOAT shonen IMO.

2011 anime is where it's at. 1999 has a darker color scheme (wow, spelt color like an American. Fix me) but is actually more censored in a way, since it doesn't have as much brutality where it ought to. 2011 looks like a harem show from crunchyroll/the kind of thing Cal watches but then Madhouse switches it up when needed.

Gd anime, but surprised it's as popular as it is with the homo MC romance (all pg13). Surprised a shonen would even have that actually lol, more a shoujo thing.

HxH is a good series, I started rewatching it a while back. I'd watch the 2011 anime over reading the manga since the artwork is pretty terrible.

If you didn't, then PLEASE, start with the 1999 anime (sub, of course). I know what I'm talking about, it's definitely better than the 2011 version until the end of Greed Island, where it ends. There's not even a comparison between York Shin in the 1999 and in the 2011. The 1999 is definitely way, way better, with better soundtrack, atmosphere, character's design (they fucked Killua and Kuroro in the 2011 version). So please, watch the 1999 version until the end of Greed Island saga. The 2011 anime is only good in the Chimera Ants saga, since is its main focus/goal since the beginning. I watched and analyzed both versions, so trust me.

You could also read the manga, but don't know if you'd like due to Togashi's scribbles lol. There's just one moment you should definitely check the manga over the 1999 version and it happens in the second saga (Celestial Tower). When you're there, call me and I'll tell you.

I watched the 1999 version until the yorknew arc's first fight (Kurapika vs a spider troupe guy) becUse that fuckhead Jak told me to (love ya really Jakjak. You're a bus) and although it has a better soundtrack with less overused tracks, it tones down the violence considerably and the colour scheme and maybe the overall art are both not as good as the newer anime's.

Come on man, it doesn't really compare. The atmosphere, soundtrack, character's design, all of the 1999 version is better. Like I said, only in one moment of the Celestial Tower (and I'll say him the moment when he's there) he should read the manga.

JackJack also likes the 1999 version better, he adimitted alot of scenesin the 2011 don't have the same impact.

@Zoro - I beg you. Watch the 1999 version until the end of Greed Island, you will really like it.
