What the 1999 version censored? The only thing it "censored" (it's not even the right term) was Hisoka's fight in the Celestial Tower, so for this reason I said him to read the manga in that moment. I can't believe there are people who think the 2011 version is better, but oh well, opinions...

@Zoro - watch the 1999 version first, you'll really like it. Atmosphere, character design, soundtrack, it's all way better in the first version. You should only watch the 2011 version at the Chimera Ants arc, really.

I'm caught up, but I skipped Greed Island and only skimmed through the Chimera Ant arc in the manga. With Togashi's attitude on HxH as a whole I stopped giving a shit about it ages ago.

Blood and the violent atmosphere are both censored in the 1999 version once you get to a serious arc like Yorknew.

Watch both. 1999 has more filler and bad art tho (guess the bad art makes up for the filler by replicating the manga).

Bad art? Are you kidding me? Like I said, the 1999 version atmosphere is way better, not to mention the soundtrack. It doesn't censor much, really. The only think it's lacking is Hisoka's fight in the Celestial Tower and I already did mention it.
