I wonder if it's possible to do Vegeta's explosion, but just halfway, so it's a reusable attack

If it's possible to learn to open the door to the explosion, but then close it partway through. It would be a tremendously powerful attack that covers a large surrounding area for a while, but they shut it off before they totally run out of ki. They end up exhausted, but nothing a few days of rest won't remedy. But maybe it's not possible to reverse the process once it begins. Or even if it's possible, it's impossible to practice it because every rep would kill you until you've got a certain level of ki proficiency, which can't be attained any other way.

If they could do it, it would be a pointless attack anyway, unless there's another opponent with regeneration. Unless you can think of another circumstance to use it? I was thinking to break a barrier if the villain is moving around using their barrier for constant protection and you need to hit it with constant, big ki for a while to break the barrier and defeat them. Or I guess any enemy who is too fast to land hits on.

Piccolo does something similar in the 23rd Budokai with the Chou Bakuretsumaha.

Perhaps it'd shorten the user's lifespan like the Tri Beam.
