a One-Piece movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki. I think that'd be interesting, it might focus on Nami & Robin though. Maybe another Mamoru Hosoda directed movie too.

Also'd like to see Mamoru Hosoda direct a DragonBall movie.

Weird I know.

What about you?

For reasons mentioned in a similar past thread, a Miyazaki OP film probably wouldn't work with the different themes and focus of his main works compared to One Piece.

A Mamoru Hosoda DB film may have worked back in the 00s when considering how he handled a OP film in a direction that was both new and interesting for the franchise. Since the 2010s, however, his works have been nonsensical ones that focus purely on eliciting emotional responses whilst sacrificing coherency, so I definitely wouldn't want to see one from his current hack self.

do u knw where the thread is? i don't think i've seen that before or maybe i don't remember.

i don't think it'd be impossible, after-all he made a lupin iii movie as-well & one-piece does have themes of pacifism at times. the fan-service'd probably be toned-down obvsly but who cares abt that anyway.

It was the one you made regarding a hypothetical Miyazaki OP movie a few weeks to a month ago.

The Lupin franchise drastically changed in tone once Miyazaki became a prominent part of the creative team. The first part of the first series was focused on being fairly gritty and didn't shy away from explicit content. In the parts of the franchise Miyazaki helmed such as a lot of Parts 1 and 2 as well as the Castle of Cagliostro film, a lot of the explicit and mature content took a back seat to more zany humour and family-friendly content.
