why does Freeza only remark that Gohan could defeat the whole army. Why not Piccolo?

Does this mean Base Saiyans > Freeza? :)

Probably because Base Gohan (FnF) is likely equal to Post-Z-Sword Gohan, and that version of Gohan was hinted to potentially stand a chance against Majin Boo as a SSj(2) by Goku's "I wonder..." reaction when the East Kaioshin makes the statement that Gohan has a chance fighting Majin Boo now.

If SSj2 Gohan (Post-Z-Sword)<<=Fat Boo, then by scaling down, one could estimate that Gohan would easily be Androids-tier at the minimum.

If one uses small multipliers, then Gohan could be Cell Games SSj-tier.

Piccolo was already having trouble against Shisami so on that alone, he wouldn't be able to solo the entire army. I think the statement had more to do with distinguishing Gohan as the strongest one there, aside from Freeza himself.

It can be said the same thing during Frieza arc, where Frieza was impressed how Goku surpass Captain Ginyu despite Gohan, Piccolo and Vegeta (perhaps with Krilin) already surpassed that shit.

Yeah, but Freeza didn't know Gohan could transform into a Super-Saiyan.

OK, this doesn't seem to be leading anywhere. I'll just say it.

If Freeza says Gohan could easily solo the army, and Piccolo wasn't even bought up in the same sentence, then that could mean Base Saiyans > Freeza. Freeza didn't know Gohan could transform, until he saw it. ^_^

Sorry I'm vague on this, but when Vegeta is bragging to Freeza about how he is close to being a Super Saiyan, doesn't he mention Gohan? Something like, "Soon I'll become a Super Saiyan! And check out the kid, he's right behind me in power."

If so, that might be enough for Freeza to assume as much. Or to at least make a guess that Gohan, who he does recognize from Namek, is probably way above Piccolo anyway. Freeza doesn't show much respect for Namekian's anyway, especially their potential power. At least the Saiyans held his interest.

I paraphrased Vegeta's words. And it could be from the dub or filler. But it's what I got so I'm throwing it on the table. :et

Yeah, but Freeza already shows that he's surprised by Gohan being able to become a Super-Saiyan. I think he said something "I didn't think his son could transform, too" or something like that.

Even-though now that I think about it, it's possible that they were all suppressed anyways, so that they don't kill the soldiers, but then Freeza says Gohan could easily defeat all of them if he wanted to, so unless Freeza can all of a sudden look into someone's dormant/full-power, then it's possible they were all at full-power but just not going at full effort.

But Frieza also> his army

Also something I noted was in the manga he was already SSJ when Frieza made that comment.

In the movie, he doesn't turn Super-Saiyan until he one-shots Picolo's Freeza Soldier, even Freeza says he didn't know he could do it, so that weird.

Or maybe Frieza can actually sense that Gohan was holding back. He should known that Gohan can solo his army.

True True, but im pretty sure that Frieza soldier doesn't even exist in the manga.

Then they are quite a few changes in the manga, right?! I wonder why they'd change that, it seems they are either trying to make both sides happy or they just keep changing their idea about it, l0l.

The manga and anime have always been different in their own special ways
-cell's death
-what we just mentioned
-gohan killing cell juniors (it was way different in manga)
-implying kid Buu and Goku are the strongest
^ are just some examples im honestly not even surprised it turned out like this lol.

The anime series was so different was because, I think AT wasn't that involved with the anime series, so they made Goku the best whenever they could and kept creating inconsistencies.

I thought this time AT was kind of involved in both, but I'm not sure anymore and even then it's usually Toei (the anime company) that changes up things from what I've seen I think.
