Piccolo told the viewers that Vegeta is genius when it comes on fighting but the only time I watched Vegeta being genius was back in Namek by outsmarting Frieza and the rest and against Android 19 (which thanks to Goku) but other than those are there more examples post Frieza arc where Vegeta is truly a genius?

It's always been the before and after fights where vegeta has been batshit dumb.

Every fight on Namek.
Fighting Majin Buu and Goku in the Buu Saga.

He makes bad decisions as far as which fights to get into and sometimes spams useless ki blasts like an idiot (e.g against Cell after Trunks is killed), but he's a genius in terms of technique and strategy during fights.

- Deciding it's best to kill Piccolo when they could just go to Namek afterwards now the rumours had been confirmed.
- Pretty much all his actions on Namek (apart from not finding Gohan's location and "watch" suspicious until afterwards) until the fight against True form Freeza.
- Analysing what MSSJ was.
- Learning to make switches between SSG and SSB.

Other than that, most of his actions in the plot could be pretty dumb due to his ego. Him recommending to use the Genki-Dama wasn't dumb, but wasn't smart when he likely only had a surface level understanding on how the technique worked.
