Super's canon status is kinda shaky, since it has direct input from Toriyama, but Toei has a lot of free control too. Gregory actually wasn't in the BoG movie, which makes sense given that the majority of the script was written by Toriyama. It isn't until Toei got to tell their own version of BoG that they added their own character back in.
