Is Kaido a descendent of Oars?

I'm starting to think it's likely that Kaido is a hybrid of Oars and a human. For one, they feature identical horns that both members of the Oars family have. Kaido is also referred to as a beast/creature, but never a human. And then obviously his size. He is far shorter than a Giant but dwarfs any human in the series. Kaido is said to be in a lifelong debt to Big Mom, so maybe she fucked Oars Jr and gave birth to Kaido? I could buy it.

Another thing worth noting is there'd be an even stronger narrative link in Moria trying to control Oars as his means of rising to his former glory after having seen the power of Kaido.

I'd say there definitely has to be some link between them. Even if Kaido isn't exactly the same race as Oars, he's probably at least of some sub-species of the same giant race.

On the subject of Kaido's history, I wonder why Vegapunk would model his artificial fruit after Kaido's exact model. I wonder if there is a history there. Considering his debt to Big Mom, something drastic must have happened. Maybe he was a Government test subject and she saved him? Who knows.

That might explain his obsessions with Zoans and his epithet of "Hundred Beast Kaido" if he's essentially a chimera of multiple inhuman races (mainly giants). It would also link well narrative-wise with his alliance to Big Mom beyond the surface level aspect of two Yonko teaming up, considering that would essentially make Kaido the perfect embodiment of what she's been trying to achieve through breeding with so many different husbands for hybrid and alliances. Not expecting it to go that deep, considering how Oda's writing's been recently, but perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Kaido needs to have some lengthy backstory at some point. Considering the events of Wano are going to be far bigger than Marineford, it makes little sense for the central antagonist to be a figure that we know so little about. All we know is that he is a bad guy who has controlled Wano for 25 years and was once a member of Rocks. That isn't enough to produce any emotional investment in this arc. As far as I'm concerned, Kaido has done nothing to set himself apart from other villains we have seen aside from being more powerful. There needs to be more substance.

Interesting, it sounds like Oars is the one who created the Wano country - which may explain why Kaido was interested in taking over? It makes me curious to see what is at Onigashima, and to learn the reason for the country being made.

Wano appears to be several islands pieced together like a puzzle, so it makes sense.

Now this is just a shot in the dark, but Oden claims Wano country had to be sealed off to protect it from a great power. I wonder if this power was Pluton, capable of vanquishing islands off the map. Given the landscape of current Wano, it could make sense. There is no way Pluton could destroy Wano as is now.

I don't believe that's how a name change is meant to function. :LUL
