Perhaps Krieg is a transmutated Devil Fruit and the true form of the One Piece.

I think Don Krieg is WB's true son. I can see it being set up as a future arc where he teams up with Weevil. The two half brothers will unite under the common hatred of Luffy, and kill Shanks knowing the mental impact it will have on Luffy. The 5th Yonko will then fall into a deep depression and allow himself to be killed by Alvida.
