Is Super Saiyan really a multiplier?

Whenever in the series something was a multiplier (kaioken, oozaru), it was clearly stated. About the SSJ transformation, no such thing was ever stated. So why do most people treat it as a multiplier?

Calling it a "multiplier" is really just a shorthand phrase. Whatever it does, the Saiyans battle power increases by a factor of 50 at the end of the day.

Considering DBS's "tingly back" explanation, it's likely some kind of a feedback loop involving S-Cells and ki focusing.

Considering Vegeta thought not going Super Saiyan at the Budokai wouldn't change his superior position, it should at the very least be the same boost for everyone. Any number above their Base levels can be considered a multiplier.

What if it’s normal+100%Freeza level+1 so that it’s always superior to Freeza?
