Well Goku got married and had a child in his early 20 compare to Bulma who probably in her mid 30s when she had Trunks. Also her egg is still fresh.

Gohan was born when Goku was 19 or maybe even 18. Goku at the 23rd Tenkaichi-Budokai was 18 years old, DragonBall Z takes place 5 years after, Gohan says he's 4 years old.

Goku was with his family for 5 years though after the Tenkaichi-Budokai. They lived-off of the prize-money from the Tenkaichi-Budokai I guess. After that Goku dies sacrificing himself, so he had really no choice but to train for Vegeta and Nappa in the after-life came-back, told Gohan & Kuririn to go away and that he'll handle it himself after seeing how dangerous Vegeta was (& a kewl father-son moment there). Then they went off to Namek straight-away & Gohan going was his choice. When Namek was about to explode Goku told them he'll come-back some-how later which he did and then trained for 3 years still living with Chi-Chi. The whole Namek episode in itself was maybe a day or more (I can't remember exactly). It seemed long for us because of the many chapters and episodes but in-universe wasn't that long at all.

The most we have on a solid timeframe for Super is Xenoverse stating BoG takes place roughly 4 years after the Boo Arc, which fits with the Daizenshuu confirming Pan as being born in the following year of Age 779, so Videl got pregnant when she was either 22 or 23 depending on whether you put more stock in the Daizenshuu or SEG entry of her birth date respectively.
