I've made this topic on F and wanted to also do it here, in mah DB home:
strong was Kami before his split? This is a question whose answer is still somewhat vague and has yet to be totally maped out by the Dragon Ball community.
Firstly, let's remember what the Great Elder of Namek has said when Kuririn went at his house:
Chapter: 265 (DBZ 71), P3.4-5
Context: the Great Elder reads Kuririn’s mind and learns of God and Piccolo.
Great Elder: “Hmf! He split in two, long ago…after evil entered into him! How foolish… He diminished by half the genius power with which he was gifted at birth! If he had come back together as one, he might not have had to die…”
Here, Great Elder says the power of Katatz's child was split in two when evil entered into him... it "diminished by half", meaning Kami and Piccolo Daimao each have 50% of the original Kami's power.
Piccolo Daimao, upon being released from the jar where he was stuck, wasn't that much of a powerhouse he once was... he got old there, and wasn't able to access nearly the same power. He, then, asked Shenlong to give him back his youth, to bring him back to the time he was most overflowing with power:
Chapter: 147, P12.1
Context: wishing to Shenlong
Piccolo: “Restore my youth! [Restore me] to that time when I was most overflowing with power!”
I think thinking he'd be back to the power he had before being stuck into the jar is a fair assessment... as such, he'd have the same power he possessed right after being expelled from Kami and, therefore, 50% of original Kami's power. Following this line of thought, original Kamiccolo = 2x Young Piccolo Daimao. That'd make him (original Kami, before the split) even weaker than 23rd Budokai Goku and Piccolo, considering both have multiplied their powers many times compared to what they had 3 years ago, which was (again) about half of original Kami's power. Here's Piccolo stating he multiplied his power many times:
Chapter: 189, P5.2, P6.1
Piccolo: “You think you can win? There’s no way you can…! I’ve…I’ve…leveled up so much that I’m now many times stronger than I was when I fought you 3 years ago…!”
Goku: “Well then, I’ve gotten just a little bit stronger than even that.”
Problem with that, though, is that Piccolo Junior pretty much stated that Kami slacked off and that therefore he isn't so dangerous anymore. Kami is a slacker, being called lazy by Piccolo.
Chapter: 182, P9.5
Piccolo: “Truly Son Goku is nothing but an obstacle for me…Far more so than God, who neglected his training.”
Buuuuut... if Young Piccolo Daimao is as strong as he was in the split and so as strong as Kami right after the split, we'd have a chain of:
Kami (old) >>> Piccolo Daimao young = Piccolo Daimao (after the split) = Kami (young, after the split)
since we know old Kami is far stronger than the old Piccolo Daimao who faced Goku, although having Kami (old) stronger than his young self doesn't make sense considering it was stated he slacked off on his training.
Are u guys following me? And do you understand the dilemma it brings? Do you have any thoughts?
