I'd have to say that Gohan's potential is > Trunks' potential, which would mean Ultimate Gohan > SS4 Gohan > SS4 Trunks.

If Pure Boo really is stronger than Gohan-Boo in the anime, then Trunks doesn't stand a chance in HFIL in my opinion.

Pure Boo is a little weaker than Bootenks going by anime feats. Feats are the surest thing we have in an arc with contradicting statements

And in the picture I posted, Goku and Vegeta also have the paler skin that Super Saiyan 2s usually get in the anime. They also have the spikier aura that is exclusive to Super Saiyan 2s.

They do, but that was the first episode in which a person was Super Saiyan 2 for an entire episode other than Gohan, and when the form hadn't even been named yet, or indeed recognized as anything but Goku and Vegeta's "highest power." In every other instance where Goku accesses Super Saiyan 2 (vs. Fat Boo, vs. Kid Boo, and even Movies 12 and 13) Toei has been sure to display the correct hairstyle, and the scene you describe above both takes place after Super Saiyan 2 is properly identified and is unmistakably a Super Saiyan 1 in the manga equivalent.

Goku's also quite pale here, with his normal Super Saiyan hairstyle. There's also no discernible difference in skin tone when he transforms to SSJ2 against Majin Vegeta in episode 229, nor when he shows the stages to Fat Boo. That trait is sometimes seen, but hardly consistent.

I guess they were SS1, but I think the point should remain that actually trying to use feats from the anime to debate is

I have no idea why Toei even added BS-y statements about Kid Boo being the strongest form of Boo if they were going to make him fight evenly with SSJ2 Goku for one episode and make Vegeta last way longer than he did in the manga

I'd have liked that scene better if they actually put lightning on him the whole time instead of that split second when he was firing ki blasts. So many people believed that was SSJ1 back in the day, lol
