This has been a hot debate as of late, guys post your quotes of why you think they are vastly superior and when I get home I'll post all the quotes going against.

Context: The first round of the 22nd tournament began with a ferocious exchange of blows!

Yamcha (thinking): “I…I never imagined he’d be so good…â€￾
Tenshinhan (thinking): “Interesting… Evidently he wasn’t just full of hot air after all… It’s been some time since I encountered such formidable resistance…â€￾


What grabs me the most is the fact that Goku gives praise for something he thought Krillin couldn't dodge. At some point Krillin also says Yamcha is about even with him.

I take Tien's quote to be about his skills, Krillen's defense and counter there was very good.

Roshi is just saying Krillen 22nd > Krillen 21st

Krillen has to be lying, no way he thinks he can really win. I have quotes for that later. I consider this false bravado. Dabura calling Gohan trash, Vegeta claiming he will win the Cell Game and so on.

What I see is that they are much closer to his initial power than Chappa was. They can put up a fight while Chappa can't. And I think it's a lot of hob knobbing as well. I have to get quotes later for you but if anyone wants to put the counter quotes in that's be great.

Krillin and Yamcha win with moderate diff at best. They were able to hold their own against a toying around Match level Goku (or equivalent) while said Goku made a fool of Chappa.
