Yeah, as SSJ2 said, they're mainly just easy games created solely for newcomers who got into the series through Pokemon Go, with the elements added taking away challenge as much as most of Gen 8 did (the only exceptions being some post-game battles), also going many steps back by removing abilities just to bank on Gen 1 nostalgia for the long-standing portion of the fanbase willing to buy them. It also doesn't help their timeline is very confusing. You still need to beat Giovanni and all that, yet Red, Blue and Green (the trainers, not the games) have all established themselves as veteran trainers already?
