Videl in M10 showed some insane durability and stamina in her brief fight with SSJ Broli. Considering the difference in power, I find it to be damn impressive.

What level you guys put her on here? She still can't manipulate energy, but as I said, I think her anime counterpart would have been dead under similar conditions.

Use either a number or another character for comparison.
:nice

Durability feats alone could place her far above the likes of Freeza. :et

No matter how you look at it, her durability was just plot armour, considering she was scared by a dinosaur. When she shows durability so contradictory to her actual power, it's hard to really put a number on her.

This is all true l0l. However, since this is an "alternate universe" so to speak, I think a slight bump in her level can be given, plot armor or not.

Of course one can look at this and say she showed better against Broli over Spopavitch. So I see where you are coming from. :troll

If i just take the Toei ball and run with it, it can be justified. Assuming she still trained with Gohan, it would be M10 Gohan, who is arguably stronger than his manga counterpart, and some of that may have rubbed off on Videl.

I agree with that. However, her fear at the sight of a dinosaur near the start of the film places a hole into her feats against Broly, thus making scaling for her ridiculously awkward. Regardless of her performance, I'd still say that the former example should place her solidly below Base Goten/Trunks, which based on their treatment in filler against #18, could lead to their Toei selves being vastly weaker than their canon counterparts as it is.

If her durability can be manipulated by way of the plot, then is it fair to ask if her reaction to the dinosaur also can be plot induced?

Either for the effect of the comedy or because it was "girly." Even if it does, I guess it really doesn't change anything, since the two would cancel each other out.

By the way, make no mistake, in no way am I trying to put Videl on Goten and Trunks's level, even in their Base. Nowhere close to that. Or Freeza. Or even Guildo, lol. For the most part, she never struck me as all that high above a normal human. Here, I think she's getting into BoDB territory, if that's not out of line at all.

I suppose it depends on where you have Videl in the first place. Anyone who wants to chime in with that is more than encouraged to do so. But the way she handled herself I think deserves a little props, considering it was Videl of all people.

Well for canon Videl, she's implied to be not much higher than the normal human tier, only being noted to be stronger than her father and her only feat of worth being beating up two robbers.

Movie Videl is obviously a different story, though where to place her is still a mystery. Movie 13 Videl had even better feats from surviving Hildegarn's attacks, so placing her is tricky, to say the least. I'd be more inclined to give her a Toei hax in that instance, since in that continuity, she had more time to train and that level could be used as a base for her strength in GT, which is vaguely implied twice to be a vast improvement. Considering how little Toei cares about consistency, with such things as Muten Roshi being at least equal to Kuririn in Movie 2 or the gap between Vegeta and Gohan in Movie 9 being implied to not be completely different leagues (despite the former having seemingly given up on fighting/training), I wouldn't be surprised if Videl was Freeza tier or something in Movie 10. If we try and take a more serious approach and assume Gohan trained her as seriously as he did Goten in this timeline, I assume it'd be somewhat logical for her to be relevant to significant fighters from part 1 or something.

The obvious cap on her would come from a lack of ki attacks. She throws a mean crystal tho. And she can indeed fly pretty regularly in much of the anime outside of M10. I see what you mean by it overall being contradictory, especially when weighed against the simplicity of the manga version.

I suppose this will go down as one of the great mysteries of the world.

The entire movie is a piece of inconsistency-riddled shit, especially in terms of durability. Broly and Gohan being threatened by lava of all fucking things, Broly feeling the need to guard against Videl's diamond throw (whether that was reflexive or not...), and Videl having similar stamina/durability to Goten and Trunks... some of the worst moments Toei logic ever had are in this movie.

Or simply Broly didn't want to kill her immediately.
