Making Gero's statement work

Context: after seeing that Gohan, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, and Kuririn had followed him
No.20: “If I collect their energy and add it to my own, I’ll be able to win against Vegeta!”

Chapter: 346 (DBZ 152), P8.2
No.20: “Don’t interfere, he says…Kukkukkuh…Alright, if I drain [Piccolo]'s energy again, then [I’ll win] against Vegeta…”


This kinda implies suppressed Piccolo ~ Gohan + Kuririn + Tenshinhan, since Gero + (2 suppressed Piccolos) ~ Vegeta SSJ and Gero + (suppressed Piccolo + Gohan + Kuririn + Tenshinhan) ~ SSJ Vegeta. Gero doesn't have to be necessarily above SSJ Vegeta, only close enough to manage to win.

In my opinion the humans are too close to Vegeta and Gohan could be closer to Normal Vegeta.

I don't see how that implies Piccolo ~ Gohan + Krillin + Tenshinhan. All it means is that either absorbing Piccolo's energy twice or absorbing Gohan + Krillin/Tenshinhan's energy would let him beat Vegeta.

@Mike - Yeah, it doesn't have to imply they are equals, but considering Gero said the same thing about absorbing suppressed Piccolo + Gohan,Kuririn,Tenshinhan and 2 suppressed Piccolos, I like Gohan + Kuririn + Tenshinhan being ~suppressed Piccolo.

Yeah, he was supposed to make a good training partner for Goku once he transforms into a Super-Saiyan, even-though it's good either-way probably.

Yeah, but considering everyone reaction of surprise when Gohan was said to be relevant against Cell tell me he wasn't so close to the base Saiyans in the Androids saga. Besides this, I don't think Gohan was that stronger than Kuririn and Tenshinhan either considering Gohan was sent away by Piccolo while Tenshinhan and Kuririn take care of prevent the Androids awake.

He was probably still the weakest Saiyan by a decent margin at that point, so yeah.
