Mega Mewtwo X vs. Mega Mewtwo Y

Obviously inspired by the other thread. Itachi says X, Kenshi says Y, I actually don't know after Itachi's post. Thoughts?

X seems more useful to me. I'm not really sure since I don't play Ubers. If you're gonna use Y then what's wrong with life orb mewtwo who hits harder? Then you can save your mega stone for another pokemon.

So would you say Life Orb Mewtwo > Mewtwo X > Mewtwo Y?

And can Mewtwo learn Drain Punch? If so, I might give it the edge against Y.

Yeah Mewtwo X can learn drain punch. Neutralizes dark types well along with its typing.

Im not sure who's better. I just know that Mewtwo Y doesn't really make sense to use your mega stone on.

Seems pretty solid then. I've never used Y, but on X I run Low Kick, Ice Punch, Earthquake, and Taunt. I may replace Low Kick with Drain Punch now.

Mewtwo X just seems harder to run as the star Pokemon of your team due to it getting raped by Fairy types, as well as its shittyassed physical moveset (no Close Combat or Hi Jump Kick). On top of this Pokemon like Xerneas, Giratina and even Talonflame rape Mewtwo X's Fighting while Y mainly requires you to counter against Priority moves and doesn't shave off HP every turn like Life Orb. Its high special defense can come in handy against high-power special attacking ubers as well. Mewtwo X is slower too.

Fair enough, I've don't play Ubers and even when I did I never chose Mewtwo X. That just means both Mewtwos don't really deserve the mega stone.

Mewtwo X's native Psychic type also becomes rather useless once you start concentrating on your Attack stat since you'd need to learn shit moves like Zen Headbutt. It can learn the elemental punches, Earthquake and such and such but it won't get stab from any of them so yeah, X's movepool isn't too good. Y is just better functionally unless you have real unorthodox ways of pulling X out.

 

[Event Horizon]

Mewtwo Y is good if you're gonna setup Calm Mind. Mewtwo X's movepool is abysmal (physical) and his ability is worse, although X can easily run a special set with its 154 base Sp.A but obviously Y can run it better.
Mewtwo X's biggest advantages are fighting STAB and SR resistance. Meh, I say Y edges him out. Regular LO Mewtwo is the best though.

Y. As already said, Mewtwo's movepool is mostly Special, so X is pretty poor in moves. The only half-decent physical move I recall Mewtwo learning is Psycho Cut, and even TMs aren't much of a saving grace. The only upside is that X gets STAB from Aura Sphere, but when that's a Special move, it seems pretty pointless.
