...from how I remember that.

Surprisingly well-done. He did not mess that up at-all. Really got close to how Germany really is, instead of just naming a country and not making it actually look like said country at-all. Again this is from how I remember that.

It's true that Urasawa definitely has some good knowledge and appreciation of Germany, considering he also had it be a key setting for a few chapters of Pluto. As someone who hasn't visited the country, I may not be the best source, but it's hard to find fault in how he presented the general geography of it. Even the social aspects seem to be very well researched such as Frankfurt's high immigrant population, as well as the fair number of Neo Nazi movements being the logical outcome to such a shift in demographics. Not really anything to fault in this area of Monster.

I can be a good source here. Since I was born and lived in Germany. :giraffe :giraffe :giraffe

A-lot of the things in Monster from what I remember (and how I remember Germany) definitely were accurate. The peaceful atmosphere in the anime was gr9.

Also from what I remember of the series the architecture, buildings, clocks just the general geography is very much Germany. Especially the way the buildings look. Very classic, old look to them like they aren't new buildings but have been around for a long time.

And obviously like I mentioned the atmosphere.

Very random post but I remembered this thread after seeing another thread.

Monster was a Yugioh ripoff.

No. Yugioh is far better than Shakespeare to be considered a ripoff.

Duel Monsters > Duel Monster > Monster

The name itself is a ripoff. It’s pretty clear that Johan was a duel monster himself as he was seemingly invincible and unable to die. If he had the heart of the cards like Tenma did he may have won.

The reason Johan got out of all those implausible situations was because if you look at his card description, it clearly states he's the kind of Monster that can't be destroyed by standard means. :troll
