If counting filler arcs, she at least was of some use against that Penguin guy in the Noah Arc. I guess you could also say she was of use to Marik as a vessel during the later parts of Battle City, but yeah, Anzu was without doubt the most useless member of the original series' cast.

Wasn't Honda pretty damn useless too? He has a much bigger role being the butt of most jokes in YGOTAS.

Otogi/Duke Devlin is also worth mentioning considering 90% of his screen time comes from his debut arc and filler. Hell, he wasn't even in the Egypt arc at all.

True, though Otogi at least had the relevance of facing Yugi, which is still more than Honda or Anzu accomplished outside of filler. I guess as far as manga goes, Honda's indeed less relevant than even Anzu once the card game section of the series began, since Anzu at least had one duel against Mai.

Honda somehow becomes more relevant the more the anime diverges from the manga's plot. Like with him getting "possessed" in the Noah arc or Yami Bakura taking him over during the final arc.

Kotori from Zexal. She's literally more useless than Anzu, she's WAY more clingy to Yuma than Anzu was to Yugi or really any female lead to their respective male protagonist in this franchise in general. She doesn't duel much but the few times she did, she was really bad at it. Anzu at least won a legit duel filler or not. The only useful thing she did was manage to keep the airship she and the nameless Zexal entourage were on from being sucked into a black hole while Yuma, Kaito, & Shark were fighting Vecktor, Miseal, & Durbe respectively.

How did I miss this one? It HAS to be Mokuba. He's the definition of plot device. His only function in the show was to get kidnapped in order to force Seto into moving the plot forward. He did literally nothing else...well, unless you count his rousing speech to convince Seto to help Yugi defeat Yami Marik; I actually thought that was well done in the anime, at least.
