Originally from Neoseeker, I also post it here to make sure that everyone know what I think about it.
"They were paid for this, so you're not reliable as them", "They are professional", "It's from Shueisha"...
Okay, I've had enough of this argument. In others situations, I would have accepted this argument. But this time, I don't, and I'll make it clear now :
When you're a professional, you're supposed to be on another level compared to "a fan" or "a customer". And as such, they shouldn't have the same method as them.
Here is the problem : Shueisha did nothing more in Daizenshuu's power levels that what we, fans, did in our own powerlevels lists. They made-up their own power-levels, which thus are found absolutely nowhere in manga, with no explanation whatsoever on their numbers, and AT isn't even involved. So, what is left for the origin of their created power levels ? Their opinion on battles. But unless you're reasoning with gaps, Goku (VS Frieza) objectively no more reason for being 3 million than for being 5 million for example.
What piss me off the most is that some people (that I won't name) manage to argue against made-up rules about the gaps. Of course. Just completely ignore the fact that Daizenshuu precisely did made-up numbers, which came out of absolutely no statement, no implication, no reasoning. It's only, and solely, based on how their subjective feelings about the battles. And somehow, it's okay because they're paid for doing something that literally anyone with good knowledge of the manga can do...and improve (a fan can easily fix the Daizenshuu's contradictions and errors).
So, I'm asking you now : this is supposed to be more reliable than fanmade power levels ? To me, the answer is clearly NO. Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not saying that you don't have the right to follow the Daizenshuu, nor that it's a shitty guide. I just want you guys to stop pretending that their power levels are any better than a fan's power levels, because that's clearly not the case.
Thanks for reading.
