Wouldn't have expected this when considering Inoue's low opinion of Toei's handling of the anime, but at least this means the conclusion of the manga will get adapted probably. I guess Inoue had a change of heart after all these years or wants to be more involved than he was for the anime.
I kind of hope that it's a movie adapting some of the earlier events in the manga, which will then be continued in a televised anime covering the rest of the 31 volume series - rather than just a condensed version of the Toyotama and Sannoh games or something. The original anime was due to the horrible Namek-style pacing and forcing people to watch all 110+ episodes of it to understand the movie just doesn't work imo
I thought of that, but there's not really any sort of loose ends that'd warrant a sequel. There is the question about if Sakuragi got back into his peak condition, though I'd say answering that would only detract from the consequences of the manga's ending.
