This is a manga adaptation of a famous Japanese novel. Title to distinguish this one from the other manga adaptation that exists. This one is by Junji Itou, famous for Uzumaki, Tomie and other similar horror mangas. Let's discuss.

I decided to read chapter one based on a YouTube Video I had watched on it. Didn't really plan to read further, but I liked the art and the story was intriguing to me. Something happens in chapter one or two that really hooked me.

I read the original novel almost 2 years ago. It can be described as a good psychological novel for its time, though plenty of works in Japanese media alone since then have done far better when it comes to exploring themes of depression, existentialism and solitude (Neon Genesis Evangelion and Onanie Master Kurosawa instantly coming to mind). Assuming Ito's work is a 1-for-1 adaption, it can be expected to be a decent story with good art.
