Yeh so far. But then again in real life, not everyone is Luffy, Kidd or Zoro. Not everyone highly touted rookie goes on to quite make it. Guys like X Drake getting fucked up by the pacifistas added to the general dreadfulness of sabaody and made the SHs defeating one seem more hype. That and seeing the supernovas get fucked up in the New World demonstrated how tough it is and obviously Kidd getting fucked up by Kaido is like "oh shit".
Maybe Luffy will team up with the other supernovas eventually, at the end of the series. I'm really surprised they weren't planned though, since it seemed like some of them would end up being like Luffy's version of Whitebeard or Shiki.
