I didn't feel like it was really necessary. It was basically just a recap of the events of Dressrosa with better animation.

I'm not up to Dressrosa in the anime yet, so I'll watch later.
At Ep.396 in Dub and Ep.609 in Sub (Punk Hazard) right now.

I'll occasionally glance at the newest manga chapter though, so I know about Sabo returning as a teen with Ace's powers, Luffy wearing a beard and acting like a gladiator for a while, Law is more important, and Luffy gets 4th Gear...
