The story everyone tells is Paul Orndorff was an agent at the time in WCW, and Vader was late for a backstage interview. He said something unkind about Vader like "the fucker's late" or "I can't find the fucker" and according to Tony Schiavone he said "let's do it without the motherfucker" but Schiavone conceded he might have said "pre-mandonna." Vader approached Orndorff and shoved him, so Orndorff punched Vader down to the ground with his bad arm and started kicking him. A lot of stories say he was wearing flip flops, some say he was wearing flip flops and was fresh out of the shower. Schiavone says he was wearing shoes.


Vader's side of the story is that he was told to do a photo shoot by Eric Bischoff or be fired, since Vader put it off for months. He did the photo shoot, but they went over by like four hours, but Vader was under the impression that Eric would inform the WCW guys he would be late. When he got to the arena, Orndorff cussed him out saying "you're fucking late" and Vader said something to which Orndorff didn't take kindly, so Vader said "go fuck yourself" and Vader knocked him to the ground. He went to check on Orndorff and Paul started attacking so they were scuffling and the fight was broken up by Meng.


It should be noted just about everyone tells the flip flop story, and that consensus seems to be Vader provoked Orndorff. The only person with a different story is Vader.

Interestingly, Kevin Nash talked about it like he was there, but he was WWF champion at the time lol.

Orndorff stomps. This was when Orndorff had that one fucked up arm from nerve damage so one was really skinny and one was beefed up. Bischoff says he was even in sandals at the time, making the feat even more impressive. So based upon the events as they unfolded, I see it like this:

Vader = 50% Orndorff

One Armed Orndorff (60%) > Vader

100% Orndorff >>> Vader
