Piccolo (Boo arc) vs Future Trunks (killing imperfect cell)

Even assuming Piccolo made significant gains from training those 7 years (of which is purely speculative when we're never given indication of this), there was still a decent gap between him and Vegeta/Trunks at the Cell Games and this Trunks is at least as strong as at that time if not significantly stronger. Piccolo's really got no chance here.

How strong do you guys think Trunks could get in those 3 years? For Piccolo it were 7 years and while Trunks seems to have a lot more potential to make gains (specially if we factor in Super), 7 years of training with Toriyama specifying Piccolo's the one to train in those times wouldn't surprise me if he ended up making decent gains, reaching a Cell Junior's level or a little above that.

Trunks was probably at SSJ Cell Games Galu's level at the most. Considering that Vegeta managed to reach SSJ2 at CG Gohan's SSJ level or a little weaker, I'd imagine if Trunks got any stronger than CG Galu he'd have broken his limits and reached the SSJ2 form already.

Yeah and may be worth considering that Trunks didn't manage to overpower Dabura with simple SSJ in the DBS manga, the former whom by the course of the battle seemed to be imposing Trunks more difficulties than his present counterpart did to Gohan, so Trunks post the 3 years may have still ways to go for reaching even CGs Goku's level, possibly.
