Piccolo was somewhat weakened at the beginning of his fight against Super Garlick Jr?

Piccolo when he started his fight against Super Garlic Jr, he was being beaten by the latter. Later Piccolo got up and made fun of the power of Super Garlic Jr and the first one became Giant and gave a tremendous blow to Super Garlic Jr. Then Piccolo returned to his normal size and was giving a beating to Super Garlick Jr.

  Did not Piccolo really fight against Super Garlick Jr at first? Or maybe Piccolo was somewhat weakened even though Kamisama had been freed from the bottle for a few minutes, until Piccolo recovered completely when he got up and started hitting Super Garlc Jr?
