When should we expect it, and what should we expect?

I remember the fan reaction when B2/W2 was released for the DS, despite the 3DS being the new, fresh thing. That made sense, since at the time they had a team working on X/Y, but going from 2D to 3D is of course a huge undertaking.

I'd thought this would happen again, with another 3DS set before a Switch one, but apparently Ultra Sun and Moon are the last ones for 3DS, so maybe we can expect a Diamond/Pearl deal before a main series Switch release?

I'm not sure how much work will need to go into it. I've seen people run Sun/Moon in the Citra emulator, and you can make the game look really nice in the emulator. My guess is that they already have a lot of HD models that they can reuse.

All the rumours seem to be talking about a spin-off sorta game.

Anyone have a grasp on what "Let's Go Pikachu" and "Let's Go Eevee" are meant to be? Is it a main game? I read Kanto region, but it better not be some shitty Pokemon-Go spin-off.

From what I gather, it's a spin-off, as Nintendo confirmed a main series set, will come out next year.

And considering these games are connected to Go, I think it's safe to say it's a spin-off. The game looks sexy, but graphics won't fool me. Remember Ultimate Tenkaichi?

Not sure if it's a main series game. Doubt it, but there were Nintendo Magazine claims that the next gen would be on Switch. Might be pretty focused on catching pokemon, but there's some sort of story.

I was under the impression that it's a Gen 1 remake with the starter being Pikachu or Eevee. Don't know if the other 3 are available like they were in Yellow or not.

Its pretty fucking gay that they remove combat for wild Pokemon and replaced it with Pokemon go mechanics.
