Pre-split Kami's power level?

Where do you place Young Kami, prior to splitting with Daimao?

I personally put him no higher than Ginyu or Kaioken early Namek Goku (if even that) due to Nail specifically stating Piccolo would only surpass 1st form Freeza due to the kind of training he's been through, implying that since all Kami had was earthly training, he wouldn't be anywhere near touching the 600K mark or anything on that alone. Plus, SuperKamiGuru openly said that "he wouldn't have needed to die" if he hadn't split, rather than him outright stating he would've stomped Vegeta, implying a hypothetically complete Piccolo still wouldn't be leaps and bounds above Oozaru Vegeta or anything.

I wouldn't say he need be much stronger than either 30k Vegeta or Nail at most. Nail's comments were purely from a result of Piccolo's power, something leaps and bounds ahead of his previous incarnation after the split, not to mention Nail would have little basis for comparing Kami. I'd say the only definitive evidence would be the Grand Elder saying it must have been a Super Saiyan who defeated the son of Katatz, placing him above Vegeta at the time by an unknown amount.

Oozaru Vegeta's power was at least far greater than 40K though (based on Galu's claims that a KKx5 wouldn't work on him), and the Grand Elder said that Piccolo wouldn't have died from the conflict on Earth. I would think if Vegeta came across a 30K opponent, he'd have used the power ball to become Oozaru immediately and killed him.

How would the Grand Elder discover how strong Vegeta was on Earth from viewing Kuririn's memories though when he shouldn't be able to sense the Ki from those events? It doesn't seem as though he got much of an accurate idea on how strong the characters from the memories were, considering he believed Katatz's Son's power was divided in two between Kami and Piccolo Daimao when that clearly wasn't the case.

He still accessed all of Kuririn's memories from his time on Earth and would've grasped the situation they were in prior to Yajirobe cutting off Oozaru Vegeta's tail. Kuririn even said there was a massive ki in Oozaru Vegeta's direction (which is a memory that the Saichorou would have read for him to assess Vegeta's power back on Earth), plus I think "being divided in half" was just figure of speech since Piccolo's power during the Nappa fight wouldn't even be 2800 (disregarding the infamously inaccurate WSJ numbers), and twice that is still nothing compared to Nappa and Vegeta.

I have always seen it as the power they had was divided into 2 and if Piccolo and Kami had Merged in the Arc Saiyan they would have been able to defeat Vegeta.

I think their power before splitting was the combined power between Young Kami + Young Piccolo Daimao. Surely Kami lost the same power as Piccolo Daimao by getting old. Personally I have it inferior to Piccolo (TB23).

SIAD The Saichorou openly said that whoever defeated the complete Piccolo/Kami would have to have been a Super Saiyan, and that a regular Saiyan (similar to Namek Vegeta) wouldn't have been enough. This would also be factoring in the fact that Kami by this point would be very old. The unsplit Kami can't possibly be as weak as 23rd Piccolo.

Saichoro's statement saying that Kami "might not have had to die" implies to me that he'd be around Oozaru Vegeta at the very best, but I'd say probably a bit lower based on the lack of confidence. All we know of Oozaru Vegeta was that he was too strong for Kaioken x5 Goku by a wide margin, but how much power did he lose against Goku and in creating the moon ball? It seemed to be a lot considering how weak he was after he had his tail cut off. I'd highly doubt that Kami would have eclipsed 100k given this, maybe 80k at most.

What's hilarious is how weak both he and Piccolo Daimao became :ha

Typical shonen shoehorning explanations into prior events long after a lot of power inflation has already occurred. YYH did a similar thing when they retconned Yoko Kurama's power level to high A class or some stupid shit and revealed Hiei was A-class at just 5 years old, despite them both starting out as D class demons at their debut.

That loss of power that they had was something similar to the loss that Super Boo had when he separated from Mr. Boo.

As for the question, I got to thinking that surely Kamiccolo (Pre DB) doesn't necessarily have a power of 180,000. Do not forget that the Ohzaru level multiplies its power x10 but maintains speed. Kamiccolo only has to be well above 18,000 power to be able to dodge Vegeta Ohzaru's blows and cut off his tail. It could also be that Kamiccolo (Makankosappo) is> 180,000. Kamiccolo could dodge Vegeta Ohzaru's blows by while charging a Makankosappo. The latter is in case Kamiccolo knew how to do the Makankosappo.

Another interesting point to touch and that could mean that Kamiccolo in ancient times has been much more powerful even, is that if in those 900 years Kamiccolo had aged like Kamisama and Piccolo Daimao, it would mean that Old Kamiccolo could defeat Vegeta Ohzaru, for Therefore in that case, Young Kamiccolo should have a power more or less in the hundreds of thousands.

At least close to Nappa. We can only speculate how things would’ve went had Piccolo not needed to die, but at the very least I think he’s surviving Nappa’s attack that killed him right before Goku arrived.

Add in how weak Kami got from being old (No split means no reincarnation from Piccolo Sr) and we got his strength pre split.

But why are we taking Guru’s statement so seriously anyway? Didn’t the guy only maybe meet Kami once when he was a boy?

Because his claims were solidified in the Android arc when we saw Piccolo/Kami's fusion grant them around a 2x boost. There's no reason to think he was inaccurate.
